That dreaded description used to shame the powerful woman.
There was a time that I loved having that word describe me.
I’m 5’ tall.
If anyone could find me intimidating, then I had done my job well.
At least I was being taken seriously. Or so I thought.
Then the loneliness came. Nobody likes an intimidating woman.
Men feel less manly…
Women hate me….
But I’m all heart!
But “heart won’t get you to the top of the ladder of success” they said.
You must be logical,
Strategic
Committed
Keep your nose to the grindstone
Work the long hours
Take the shit projects
Pay your dues
I did it…
ALL
Now, I’m intimidating.
Exhausted
Misunderstood
Unappreciated
Unacknowledged
Frustrated
And…
Under achieving
Under paid
Where am I in all of this?
